Brief History of Massage
Massage is an instinctive reaction, as humans if we injure ourselves, the first thing we do is rub the area. Massage therapy is taking this instinct and turning it into repairing the body. Massage has been around in some form for thousands of years and has been used by many ancient cultures such as the Chinese, and Egyptians through to the Greeks, and continued on by the Romans. The Greeks and Romans developed heated baths, scented oils and used massage for all types of people throughout there society. We move forward to the more recent Swedish massage that people are more familiar with. And which is the base of most Massage Therapy training currently. Most recently there has been an explosion of massage therapy Research, this lead to an emergence of many different modalities, leading to more educated higher standards of massage therapy

So whether it is physical manipulation or mentally, experiencing touch in a safe environment is extremely beneficial. *Improves Sleep by decreasing the tension in the muscles and aiding in our mental state.
