COVID-19 GUIDELINES
***Please read before coming to your appointment. You can print it off sign it and email it back to me, or bring it to your appointment (this is to decrease the amount of things touched in the office). If this is not an option for you it will be completed upon arrival for you treatment.***
There have been a couple of changes to procedure when visiting my space. I am sending you this to inform you of the new guidelines that have been set out for me. Please read ahead of time. You will be required to sign a similar form when visiting the clinic prior to treatment commencing. Below is the protocol developed by Phoenix Therapeutic Massage based on the criteria provided by the CMTBC, WorkSafeBC and the Provincial Health Officer. This protocol is set in place to keep you, I and our community safe. Do not hesitate share concerns or ask questions.

I Sarah Morrison am the only Registered Massage Therapist working out of Phoenix Therapeutic Massage. All surfaces will be sanitized between patient visits. Any surfaces that cannot be disinfected has been removed from the treatment room. There will be a 30min interval between appointments to prevent patients from interacting and to allow time to disinfect the space. In the event of a client arriving early please refer to the number three protocol.
Due to the nature of Massage Therapy appointments it will not be possible to maintain social distancing once the treatment has begun. We will be relying on pre-screening, hand hygiene and enhanced cleaning to minimize the risk of harm.
***All patients are required to complete the BC COVID-19 Symptom Self-Assessment Tool prior to their appointment.***

  • Please note that symptoms can range from mild to severe. Sometimes people with COVID-19 have mild illness, but their symptoms may suddenly worsen in a few days. People infected with COVID-19 may also experience gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhea, nausea and vomiting a few days after the onset of the above symptoms. It you only have gastrointestinal symptoms you may not have COVID-19.
  • I Sarah Morrison will get in contact with you the day before your treatment to confirm the lack of COVID-19 symptoms
  • TWO: The bathroom is no longer available to clients, so please go before you come.

  • THREE: Please text or call me when you arrive for your appointment so I can open the gate and office door for you, to mitigate the amount of surfaces you as the client are touching. The previous protocol if the curtains are closed I am preparing for the next appointment, if the curtains are open please text.

  • FOUR: Please use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of the treatment. I did before, but will continue to wash my hands before and after treatments, for a minimum of 20 seconds. I will also use hand sanitizer throughout the treatment as needed
  • FIVE: Currently I am accepting CASH transactions, but I would prefer DEBIT, VISA, MASTERCARD or ETRANSFER. Receipts will be emailed out whenever possible.
  • SIX: Please avoid touching your face during the treatment, if you need to touch your face I can supply a tissue, and hand sanitizer. Masks are not required, but if you would like to wear a mask PLEASE DO. If you would like me to wear a mask please let me know. If you want me to wear gloves I can accommodate that as well.
  • SEVEN: Donning and doffing mask: Do to the uptick in COVID19 positive cases in the Okanagan, I Sarah Morrison will be wearing a mask during the treatment. I respectfully ask you as the client to please also wear a mask during the treatment. This has been mandated by the College of Massage Therapy fo BC as well as the Ministry of Health I have masks available if you are unable to bring your own, but if you have your own mask I would please ask you to bring it. Disinfect hands prior to taking off a mask, and after disposing of a mask in the garbage. Gloves, protective goggles and masks will be available PPE for RMT use if the patient requests their use.  As always, at any time during the treatment the patient can change their mind of their preferences.
  • EIGHT: All high-touch surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected in between patients, regardless of appearance. Linens (including blankets) are single use only, then laundered in hot soapy water. All equipment and supplies will be cleaned and disinfected immediately after each patient.
I  agree that I have read and understood everything the Massage Therapist has stated above. I also recognize that Massage Therapy treatments involve some risk of COVID-19 transmission. I understand that the RMT is following a protocol to reduce and mitigate the risk, but the risk can never be zero. I the Patient consent to treatment despite some risk being involved.
